The waveform picture for April is a fairly typical pattern of alternating storms and transition periods. Unlike the big Koz Quake of mid March, none of the storms are overwhelming in terms of strength, though I certainly wouldn't discount them by any means. There seems to be a lot of underlying noise throughout the month's waveforms, which tends to blunt their intensity and scatter their impact. Such noise is common when the outer planets are divided into competing groups that fail to work together. The qualitative "feel" or "mood" of the basic energies change as one group, then another, is emphasized by the faster moving planets, so April will seem to have different personalities from week to week. There appear to be 5 distinct energy patterns this month.
Apr 1st to the 4th |
The 1st to the 4th is a weak, noisy transition period. The waveform varies in strength from 321 to 431 units -- not much energy here. The harmonics are a mixture of H48, H12 and H24 -- scattered, difficult and lacking in focus. These energies are most easily felt at 0-4, 10-12 and 26 degrees of each zodiac sign. Check your own birth chart to see if any of these areas affect you personally. This period is a continuation of the transition that settled in during the last week of March. There's not much going on astrologically during this time, although it seems there's a slow fade from a pattern involving Saturn and Pluto in late March to one clustered around Uranus and Neptune now. It's probably best to sit back and take a wait-and-see attitude now until your situation clears up and a new direction takes hold. This basic confusion is compounded by the Mercury station on the 4th -- the thinking mind is not up to the task of making sense of the world. Lie low and get some rest during this chaotic time, as life gets busy shortly.
Apr 5th to the 12th |
The 5th to the 12th is a mild storm based on a disruptive T-square pattern. The waveforms increase in strength on average, ranging from a weak 324 units to a low Koz Alert of 507. The harmonics include a prominent H4 that's easily visible in the waveform, plus some H48 and H24 -- all challenging and stressful frequencies. The areas of focus are 4-7, 18 and 25 degrees of each sign. The guts of this T-square consist of Mars opposite Neptune, both squared by Venus. They have help from Uranus, the Sun, Jupiter and from time to time, the Moon. I'd expect this one to affect relationships and stir up complicated emotions. Go easy with each other and recognize that all these fleeting moods have more to do with what's going on inside you than with the other person. You may find it difficult to get any work done during this time, as Mars-Neptune aspects are notorious for blunting your will power. The 10th may be especially turbulent because the Sagittarius Moon makes this a Grand Cross and Pluto is standing still today, churning the unconscious into turmoil. Some kind of creative or artistic project might be a good outlet for all this inner activity.
Apr 13th to the 18th |
The 13th to the 18th is another noisy transition period, although the waveform never collapses completely. The waveform is pretty weak, in the 332 to 417 unit region most of the time, although it hits 486 late on the 18th as the next storm checks in. The harmonics are a mostly challenging mixture of H48, H12, H4 and H8. Most of the activity is focused at 2-4, 27 and 10-11 degrees. The Sun is opposite Saturn during this time; Mercury and Venus join the fun as well. This period, for all its wimpy appearance, may actually feel like the most normal time all month, since the outer planets and their unconscious rumblings are mostly dormant. Saturn indicates this is a time to buckle down and get some annoying chores behind you. You probably won't feel like your ego is being stroked much or that your feelings are flying high, because Saturn is all about taking care of business. Settle down and get your life in order -- it'll help when the next storm kicks in.
Apr 19th to the 26th |
The 19th to the 26th is the major storm of the month. The waveform builds in strength to the 418 to 544 unit region, the most intense energies during all of April. The harmonics consist of H12, H24 and H48 -- that prominent H12 indicates this is some of the most positive and useful influences we'll see this month. The peaks at 3-6 degrees of each sign are the most potent regions. This storm pattern is pretty complicated. The Sun, Mercury and Mars are the major trigger planets, while Neptune, Uranus and to a lesser extent Jupiter are the backbone planets. Saturn and Pluto are on the fringes. In terms of getting things accomplished, this is some of the most powerful and constructive tail winds we're going to see. However, you have to focus on the big picture and more selfless activity, since all those outer planets make it hard to bend this influence to your personal demands. Keep your ego out of the picture and life goes much more smoothly. In some sense, this is also a highly spiritual energy, so taking some time for contemplation may be useful. Make the most of this time and don't let it pass you by.
Around the 18th or 19th, the energies take on a crisp, powerful appearance as the big storm of the month starts to come together. This is quite a complex pattern of planets that is rather hard to interpret. It starts with an opposition of Mars and Neptune, an aspect that tends to sap your strength and inhibit your will power, especially if you're trying to accomplish some goal that serves your own private purposes more than the greater good. In the next few days, the Sun makes some positive aspects to Mars and Neptune (trine and sextile, resp.) that soften the opposition. Again, people will respond best to you if you keep the big picture in mind and treat them warmly and with an open heart. Jupiter also helps bring out the magnanimous side of your behavior. And then there is the conjunction of Mercury and Uranus on the 22nd, a contact that supercharges the thinking mind and the intuition. This is the last of 3 such contacts (previously Mar 5 and 18) as Mercury curled around Uranus during his retrograde cycle. You may have some of those "aha!" moments of inspiration or insight, although it wouldn't surprise me if some of those realizations are about dumb things you did during the retrograde period. Clean up those messes and move on. Anyway, this storm is probably the most useful and empowering time all month, so put it to good use.
Apr 27th to the 30th |
Finally, the 27th to the end of the month shows the main storm losing energy, even though it seems to hang together still. The waveform settles down to more moderate levels, 361 to 431 units. The harmonics are mostly H24, H12 and H48 -- a bit rougher and harder to handle again. Most of the energy is at 7 and 20 degrees of each sign. There's not much going on during this brief period as the storm loses steam. The main blip of energy is on the 29th, as Pluto is activated by the Sun and first quarter Moon. If you experience friction or road blocks now, make a mental note of the problem -- you'll probably see more of this issue all summer. This pattern is still going strong as we head into May.
