Dec 1st to the 5th -- the late November storm continues awhile.
Dec 6th to the 15th -- a Pluto transition period.
Dec 16th to the 23rd -- a huge storm from the other side.
Dec 24th to the 31st -- quiet holiday time.
An online ephemeris for the month is available. Check Current Transits, too.
December is a rather straightforward rhythm of storms and transition periods, although the storms can be doozies at times. It's surprising to me how disorganized and scattered looking the transitions can appear, a symptom that the planets aren't working together at all. But then a few days later, everyone falls into alignment and a new storm kicks up. There's a lot of volatility in some of these patterns, especially the quieter times, so the energies can change rapidly and unexpectedly. There are 4 main energy patterns to look at this month.
Dec 1st to the 5th |
The 1st to the 5th is a continuation of a potent storm that kicked in at the end of November. The waveform varies in strength from 382 units (pretty quiet) to 515 units (a low Koz Alert), so there's actually considerable power to harness here from time to time. The harmonics these days include H12, H4, H6, H24 and H48 -- a complex mixture that is basically positive, but can be very difficult and combative occasionally. The energies are concentrated at 25 and 12 degrees of each zodiac sign -- check your own birth chart to see where this hits you. The Moon, Mercury and Venus are all contacting Pluto during this time, especially during the Koz Alert on the 2nd. The mood of this time can feel very intense and inwardly directed. This is mostly a time to wrap up old projects and clear off your plate so you have fewer obligations hanging over your head the rest of the month. I'd probably not start anything new until after the new moon and Uranus station, both on the 5th.
Dec 6th to the 15th |
The 6th to the 15th is mostly a transition period that is punctuated by occasional bursts of energy. The waveform ranges in power from 337 (on life support) to 477 units (moderate strength) -- generally wimpy energies that are easy to handle. The harmonics consist of H6, H48, H12 and possibly some H5 -- mostly constructive, but it's easy to be distracted. The energies are focused at 24-26, 4-6 and 15 degrees of each sign. Despite the overall weakness of this pattern, there's still a powerful undercurrent involving Pluto. Especially between the 12th and the 14th, when Mercury, Mars and Pluto are in a tight conjunction with each other, with help from the Moon and Venus, this darker energy is most evident. This can be an intense time on many levels, so make sure to channel it for some constructive use if you don't want to have it blow up out of control. Mars-Pluto aspects are never known for being warm and fluffy.
Dec 16th to the 23rd |
The 16th to the 23rd is the big storm of the month. The waveform ranges from 362 up to 613 units (on the 20th to 21st, just before the full moon) on the intensity dial, so don't be surprised if the world turns crazy and out of control. The harmonics include H4, H24, H12 and H48 -- a good mix for butting heads with other people. The "hot spots" are 25-27 and 12 degrees of each sign. Not surprisingly, this is more of that massive outer planet activity that has been clobbering us since last spring, with help from the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus. With that many planets involved, no wonder we see another Koz Quake in this seemingly endless pattern of influence. Of course, with so many planets, it's also hard to sort out all the various kinds of energies in play, so this can be a very complicated and confused configuration. The Quake peaks in intensity just before the lunar eclipse on the 21st, with the solstice after that. Also, the Sun goes over the Galactic Center on the 18th, another indicator of potent spiritual energies at work. It's hard to call this one in advance -- we'll just have to see how it plays out. It should be interesting!
Dec 24th to the 31st |
Finally, the 24th to the end of the month is a rather quiet, aimless period. The energies cool off to the 329 to 426 unit region most of the time, although there is one brief blip to the 486 level on the afternoon of the 31st. The harmonics are mostly a fat H12 and plenty of H48. The areas of emphasis are 25-27, 15-17, 5 and 20 degrees of various signs. There are a number of isolated events worth mentioning these days. The Sun conjuncts Pluto on the 26th, shedding some light on these dark energies in our lives. Mars is square Saturn on the 29th, always a difficult and challenging aspect. Mercury goes direct again on the 30th, so our thinking abilities may start improving shortly. Otherwise, 2010 is winding down in a quiet fashion. It's a good time to lie low and enjoy the holidays.
