May 1st to the 8th -- the first storm of the month.
May 9th to the 13th -- the lowest energy of May.
May 14th to the 23rd -- a long, Koz Quake storm!
May 24th to the 31st -- the storm pauses to catch its breath.
An online ephemeris for the month is available. Check Current Transits, too.
There appears to be only 2 settings for the energies during May: moderate storms and powerful storms. While all this activity may be useful for getting work done, it's likely to feel pretty overwhelming and draining after awhile. There is often a strong 4th harmonic present in the waveform, formed by Saturn opposite Uranus and some other planet forming a T-square, so tension is in the air. The storm at mid-month is easily the most powerful waveform we've seen so far in 2010, if that helps to put things into perspective. There are 4 main energy patterns to examine.
May 1st to the 8th |
The 1st to the 8th is the first of the big storms in May. The waveform ranges in strength from 372 units up to 528, spawning a couple of low Koz Alerts early in the week. The harmonics include H4, H8, H24 and H12 -- a pretty rough and stressful mixture overall. The energy is mainly focused at 28-29 and 13-15 degrees of each zodiac sign -- see if any of these hot spots affect your own birthchart. Those 4 tall peaks in the waveform point to a T-square between Saturn, Uranus and the Moon that becomes exact early on the 2nd. It has help from the Sun, Mars, Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter, pretty much most of the solar system. There's an urge to get up and do something, make some changes in your world, an impatience with the status quo. Don't get too carried away, however, since there is still some value in parts of the same old -- the trick is figuring out what to hold onto and what to let go of. The 4th is also a volatile day, so don't let your temper get out of control. Patience is very helpful these days.
May 9th to the 13th |
The 9th to the 13th is probably the mildest period all month. The waveform varies from 359 to 456 units, essentially a moderate strength planetary storm, not your typical transition period. The harmonics are H24, H12, H4 and H48, still a rather challenging combination. The peaks in the waveform are from 27 degrees across the boundaries between signs to 1 degree of the next sign and around 20 degrees. There's not much going on astrologically during this time, unlike during the Alerts. Mercury is at its direct station on the 11th, so communications between people may be confused and mixed up. There's a touch of Pluto energy in the air on the 10th, so don't settle for superficial answers. With the new moon on the 13th, old projects are basically winding down now -- don't start anything new until after the lunation.
May 14th to the 23rd |
The 14th to the 23rd is the really big storm of the month. The waveform goes from a low energy of 385 units as we pull out of the previous lull to a robust Koz Quake of 608 units on the 18th, the most powerful blast of the year so far. The harmonics are mostly H12, H8, H48 and H6, perhaps the most positive and constructive influences all month. The energy is focused at 27 to 2 degrees (across the zodiac sign boundaries again). Venus is at the T-square point this time; the Sun and Moon are also part of the picture. Hold on to your hat -- this is a whirlwind of a time! While constructive in theory, there may just be too much force going on to successfully surf this storm. Give it your best effort, but don't be too surprised if your plans get derailed. Notice that after the 20th, Uranus is starting to shut down in preparation for its transition to Aries, allowing Saturn to get the upper hand. Life may feel less hectic and more mundane, especially as the storm begins to lose steam. Make the most of this time.
The Sun, Moon and Venus join Saturn, Uranus, etc. in the most spectacular configuration all month. Venus is at the T-square point this time, which could help calm down the over-caffeinated Quake energies a little. Fortunately, the strong 12th harmonic also makes this influence easier to work with and channel to good purpose. However, any blast this strong is going to be hard to surf successfully. Work with this positive energy as best you can, especially when the volume gets turned down in a few days. Keep in mind that Uranus is closing up shop in Pisces over the next week as it prepares to move into Aries. Some of that jittery, crazy energy should calm down when he goes to sleep.
May 24th to the 31st |
Finally, the 24th to the end of the month is weaker and less organized, but a storm nonetheless. The waveform is in the 386 to 570 unit region -- quite a range of intensities from wimpy to overwhelming. The harmonics include H12, H4, H24 and H48 -- mostly positive and helpful, but with a difficult overtone. The main peaks are at 28-29 degrees of each sign, with lesser peaks around 13-15 degrees. This final week is definitely a major change in direction. Between Uranus moving into Aries, plus the stations of Saturn and Neptune , the outer planet situation is in total flux. The stations tend to make us feel stuck, but Uranus makes us antsy to move or start something new, especially as it comes out of its slumber around the 29th. This storm is still picking up steam as we head into June.
