Energy Patterns for March 2010

Major Waveform Patterns:

Mar 1st to the 5th -- a slow start to a slow two weeks.
Mar 6th to the 11th -- a hint of a storm.
Mar 12th to the 14th -- stuck in the doldrums.
Mar 15th to the 25th -- the big planetary storm kicks in!
Mar 26th to the 31st -- the storm regroups.

An online ephemeris for the month is available. Check Current Transits, too.

The new moon on the 15th is the big turning point of March. Prior to the new moon, the planetary energies seem quiet, disorganized, little going on. This changes dramatically on the 15th, with the waveform climbing 200 units overnight to a respectable Koz Alert at the new moon. From that point on, the rest of the month seems like one long storm of moderate power with few breaks in the action. When you look at matters in more detail, there appear to be 5 distinct energy patterns, more or less. Keep in mind that there are always exceptional times within the main patterns -- March is volatile and can change rapidly.

Mar 1st to the 5th

The 1st to the 5th is mostly a noisy transition period. The waveform is low to moderate in strength, varying between 345 and 430 units. The harmonics consist of H48, a fat H12 and some H2 in the background -- generally stressful and disorganized. The energy is most often concentrated at 25-28, 0-3 and 10 degrees of each zodiac sign -- see where this hits your own birthchart. Mercury is passing through the Pluto crew these days (Moon conjunct Saturn on the 2nd helps too), so the mental world or your communications with others may be especially problematic for a few days. Venus conjunct Uranus on the 3rd stirs up the feeling side of relationships, bringing some excitement into our lives while bumping us out of our ruts. Mostly though, this is a chaotic time with little planetary support. Take it slowly, if possible, and don't over exert yourself -- you don't have many reserves to fall back on now.

Mar 6th to the 11th

The 6th to the 11th is the first attempt to get the planets organized and working together more consistently. The waveform is generally very low key, in the 302 to 407 unit range (yawn...), although it does hit 487 unexpectedly on the 8th very briefly (one of those moments of volatility). The harmonics are a complex mixture of H24, H6, H12, H36 and H48 -- more positive and constructive, but with an underlying tone of difficulty. The areas of emphasis are from 28 degrees of one sign to 3 degrees of the next one (across the borders), as well as 14-18 degrees. Venus is forming a T-square with Saturn and Pluto, with the Moon passing over Pluto on the 8th. Emotions may be affected heavily. People may feel more serious or remote than usual, but with darker emotions bubbling below the surface. Relationships can get iffy if this standoffishness is misinterpreted. On the plus side, Venus might actually tone down the Pluto crew some, not to mention that her trine to Mars is well known to stimulate romance and sexual attractions. This could play out in any number of ways, but stay mindful of the downside possibilities if you want matters to turn out well. Mars is standing still on the 10th -- watch you mouth if you don't want to get into a argument.

Mar 12th to the 14th

The 12th to the 14th is a brief transition period with "fuzzy", disorganized looking waveforms. There's no "oomph!" in this energy -- 302 to 389 units is practically on life support. The harmonics are H48, a fat H12, H24 and some miscellaneous noise -- scattered and distracting, but not all that bad. There are peaks at 24, 14, 21 and 0 degrees of each sign. Needless to say, there's not much going on these days. Between the Moon going over Neptune and a pileup in Pisces, this is a moody time. It may not seem possible right now, but we'll be going into overdrive in a few days, so recharge your batteries and get ready for the action.

Mar 15th to the 25th

The 15th to the 25th is the kick off of the big storms coloring the last half of the month. The waveform leaps into action finally, with strength levels in the 339 to 562 unit region. The harmonics consist of H6, H12 and H24 -- quite positive and helpful for the most part, plus there's no "noise" to speak of. The energy is concentrated at 27 to 3 degrees of each sign, across the sign boundaries again. We go from zero to 60 overnight on the 15th, making the new moon chart on the 15th spectacular. After this initial blast, we settle into a long period of high energy activity, so hit the ground running. First of all, Mercury is making a T-square with Saturn and Pluto, and then the Sun does the same 3 or 4 days later. Make sure everyone is on the same page when you discuss anything, since communication is apt to be screwed up. Egos may feel like they are on the line, as well, so don't put your pride on the line if you don't absolutely need to. Having said all that, this is probably the most positive energies all month, so make sure to put them to good use. Remember that there are lots of planets in Pisces for several days after the new moon, heightening your intuition and letting you see a bigger picture than you're probably used to experiencing. Make the most of this time!

Mar 26th to the 31st

Finally, the 26th to the end of the month is a time for the storm to regroup and come back one more time. The waveform is mostly in the 315 to 454 unit range, but it climbs up to 537 on the 31st as we head into April. The harmonics are a fat H12, H48 and some H24 early in the period -- pretty good vibes overall. The energy is focused at 27-4 degrees (across the boundaries). Venus and Mercury are contacting most of the outer planets these days, but otherwise there's little going on. The energy is picking up as we head into April.
