Feb 1st to the 7th -- a high powered storm.
Feb 8th to the 11th -- the storm is unraveling and quieting down.
Feb 12 to the 15th -- noisy transition period.
Feb 16th to the 22nd -- another somewhat milder storm kicks up.
Feb 23rd to the end of the month -- an aimless, drifting pattern.
An online ephemeris for the month is available.
The pattern of outer planets (Chiron, Neptune and Uranus) continues to bear down on us, although Jupiter is gradually leaving the pack. (He's more aligned with Pluto these days.) Of course, the faster moving inner planets are forming a pack of their own. Mercury, Mars and the Sun are traversing Aquarius in a tight little bundle, with Venus 45 degrees behind them, so they tend to interact with the outer planets all at once in a big group effort. This accounts for the imposing storms we see this month. However, when the two groups separate, things can become relatively quiet and scattered. I see 5 main energy patterns this month.
Feb 1st to the 7th |
The 1st to the 7th is a powerful, highly focused waveform that has the potential to really churn things up for us. The waveform varies in strength from 415 to 584 units, quite potent influences. The harmonics include H4, H24 and H8, all frequencies that produce tension and discord. The main peaks in the graph show the energies are mostly focused around 27-29 degrees of each zodiac sign, slowing drifting across the cusps (or boundaries between signs) to 1-4 degrees by the end of the period; there's a secondary influence around 16 degrees. Check your own birth chart to see where these hot spots lie. Pretty much all the planets except Pluto are involved in this storm at some time, so this is a complex, multifaceted energy that's hard to tease apart. Given the ongoing outer planet impact, the energy feels intense, mentally stimulating, overwhelming occasionally and not grounded at all. It's easy to go into overdrive, running on adrenaline and nervous energy, but in the long run that leads to burnout. Pace yourself -- this is still a marathon, not a sprint. The 2nd (around the new moon) and the 6th are especially high powered. The harmonics are uniformly challenging, so don't be surprised if road blocks and detours prevent smooth progress. It helps you cherish the victories more.
Feb 8th to the 11th |
The 8th to the 11th shows the big storm starting to unravel some. The waveform cools off considerably, ranging from 340 to 470 units, much less intense. The harmonics are still quite contentious in nature, with H4, H24, H48 and H8 dominating the picture. The areas of emphasis include 18-22, 4-6 and 28 degrees of each sign. There's not a lot of activity during this brief period and most of it involves Pluto. The Venus-Pluto conjunction on the 9th can really stir up the emotions, though this is more about upsets related to mundane issues than a romantic romp in the park. Otherwise, this period is less of a roller coaster than the storm was, as volatile situations start to settle down again. Time to get your second wind.
Feb 12 to the 15th |
The 12th to the 15th is a noisy transition period, the quietest time all month. The waveform ranges from 309 to 451 units in strength, somewhere between comatose and low-moderate levels. The harmonics consist of H48 and a "fat H6" -- pretty scattered and disruptive for the most part. The areas of focus are 26-28, 13-16, 7 and 22 degrees, roughly in that order of importance. The planets are settling into a low level of activity for a few days, with no obvious overriding mood or theme. Much of the action these days is triggered by Mercury, so it's perhaps a good time for some light mental chores. However, I wouldn't try to pour much effort into anything right now, since there's simply no support for your work. Try to get some R&R, if circumstances allow, and prepare for the next storm.
Feb 16th to the 22nd |
The 16th to the 22nd is that next storm, a somewhat milder and more harmonious one this time. The waveform varies in strength from 367 to 519 units, moderate to strong values that give us something to work with, but without blowing us out. The harmonics consist of H12, H6, H48, H24 and H4, with the more positive frequencies crowding out the difficult ones for a change. The peak areas are 28-30 degrees (the end of each sign) and 15 degrees. Time to get off your butt again and start moving! There's a strange mood to this period, with the Sun, Mercury and Mars passing over Neptune in late Aquarius. It's high mental energy, but with that dreamy, soft-focus Neptune overtone that takes matters to new heights. You feel like jumping up and doing something, but you're not sure what. Pay attention to your idle thoughts and daydreams now, as there might be some interesting subtle clues as to where things are headed. The 20th and 21st may be especially intriguing, as many of these aspects become exact. Try to work with this energy, as it's the most constructive vibe we're going to get all month, but don't be surprised if the situation takes an unexpected direction on you.
Feb 23rd to the end of the month |
Finally, the 23rd to the end of the month shows this storm settling down; the trend is more moderate, but rather aimless. The waveform is in the 374 to 460 unit region, pretty tame stuff again. The harmonics include H6, H48 and H12 -- generally helpful frequencies, but rather scattered or distracted. Most of the energy is focused at 27-30 and 6-8 degrees of each sign and revolves around the Jupiter-Pluto square on the 25th. That day could certainly be memorable, since the square is supported by a number of inner planets (Sun, Mercury mostly) that help bring the energies to our attention. Take notice where you bump up against resistance or friction in your activities, as Pluto may be alerting you to where some changes are needed. This pattern muddles along into early March.
