One thing that you notice right away, the waveforms for December look much stronger and more organized than nearly anything from last month. With Jupiter rejoining the Neptune knot (and forming a lot of "big aspects" in the process), the region around 21-24 degrees of each zodiac sign is very active. The other active group, clustered around Mars, Saturn and Pluto, stimulates the 2-4 and 17-19 degree regions of each sign. You can see the ping-pong match between these two groups going on all month in the waveform -- just watch how the main peaks of the waveforms bounce back and forth between these degrees. The strength levels are generally moderate to strong and rarely fall apart completely. Life can be demanding without much of a let up -- hopefully we all have enough holiday spirit to get us through. There are 5 main patterns this month.

The 1st to the 5th is more of a transitional period than a storm. The waveform varies in intensity from 344 to 481 units, a very moderate level that makes no big demands on us. The harmonics include H12, H48 and H24 -- positive and helpful overall, but with a stressful undercurrent. As discussed above, the areas of emphasis are 21-24 and 2-4 degrees of each zodiac sign. Much depends upon where the Moon is each day. First the Neptune planets dominate and then Pluto and friends take over. Your mood can go up and down in daily cycles without much apparent cause, as you respond to the different planetary energies. The Pluto vibe is especially powerful on the 3rd and 4th, when the Moon and Venus amplify this influence and channel it our way. This is a no nonsense vibe, so just buckle down when you have work to do -- it's not going to get done by itself. While not a romantic influence, as you might think with Venus, it can certainly stimulate your passions. Be mindful of how you express your energies these days.

The 6th to the 11th shows a more organized storm that is still quite moderate. The strength varies from 387 to 482 units -- nothing overwhelming here. The harmonics are H24 and H8, so the energies feel stressful and challenging. The emphasized degrees (18-22 and 3-5) are typical of the Pluto group. Most of the aspects these days relate to the Saturn-Pluto square. Mercury goes over Pluto on the 7th, so watch what you say -- even the most innocent remark can be misinterpreted and blown out of proportion. Better to silently observe your thoughts than blurt out something unfortunate. You may need to make some course corrections if you find your plans go awry. Be flexible.

The 12th to the 21st is a noisy, but potent storm with a shift in who is in charge. The waveform is in the 386 to 505 unit range, with a low Koz Alert just before the new moon on the 16th. The harmonics consist of H6, H12, H48 and H24 -- the positive frequencies dominate handily over the negative ones. The shift to 20-24 degrees of each sign hints we're under the influence of the Neptune knot during this period. This rather long period is when Neptune and friends have their greatest influence on us. Not only are these planets feeding into the Sun (especially around the new moon) and Venus, but Jupiter's aspects to Uranus and Neptune during this time are major impacts on us. Fortunately, the mood of the knot planets is much more lively and upbeat than the Pluto crew, so there's not much to complain about this time, other than the intensity. There's an urge to relax and kick back under all these positive planets because they feel so good, but you'll be much better off in the long run if you put these energies to work -- results come easier now than the rest of December. Don't forget the Sun going over the Galactic Center on the 18th, a time that is literally out of this world.

The 22nd to the 25th is kind of a lull in the action. The strength of this waveform is a bit less than the previous storm, roughly 374 to 491 units. The harmonics are a fat H12 and some H48 -- good overall, but a little scattered and unfocused. The hot degrees are 21-24 and 3. With the Sun going past Pluto on the 24th, the ball is back in Pluto's court again. There's an intensity and tension in the air that undermines the more traditional holiday spirit. It might come out during family gatherings as some old emotional issues that have been stewing for many years which break out in some kind of moody meltdown seemingly out of the blue. People's egos may feel on the line, so they can be rather touchy. Don't take these issues too seriously or feel you need to join in with other people's soap operas. This energy needs to dissipate, not be amplified.

Finally, the 26th to the end of the month is a brief storm pattern, the last one of 2009. Again, the energies are 355 to 502 units, moderate to strong. The harmonics include H24, H8 and H4 -- pretty tough vibes now. The emphasized degrees are 3-5, 20-23 and 7-9 degrees of each sign. Once more it feels like Pluto is in control, so take it easy. Remember that the full moon on the 31st is an eclipse, so emotional energies are pretty high. This storm is breaking up as we head into 2010 -- Happy New Year!
