Aug 1st to the 11th -- a moderate storm with a Saturn-Pluto twist.
Aug 12th to the 15th -- a strong transition between storms.
Aug 16th to the 19th -- Saturn and Pluto are back for more.
Aug 20th to the 26th -- a weak, drifting time.
Aug 27th to the end of the month -- an unpredictable change of direction.
An online ephemeris for the month is available.
Unlike July, when it seemed there was no discernible structure to the waveforms most of the time, the August waveforms show a little organization and "oomph!" once again. After a break in the action, the planets have decided to work together and join their energies. This is particularly the case with the large Leo pileup of planets that dominates the middle of the month and contributes to a brief, but powerful storm pattern. Even the weaker transition periods have more strength than they did in July. The energies are strong without being overwhelming and generally consist of the more constructive harmonics. This is about as easy as it gets in 2007. Looking over the month, I detect 5 separate energy patterns.
Aug 1st to the 11th |
The 1st to the 11th is a moderately powerful planetary storm that combines a large number of planets into one group. The waveform varies in strength from 314 units (quite low energy) to a mild Koz Alert of 508 units on the 2nd. The harmonics in this waveform are a mixture of H12, H24, H36 and H48 -- a mix of easy and challenging frequencies that leans heavily towards the more pleasant side. The regions of each zodiac sign most influenced by these planets are around 26 to 30 degrees (right at the end of each sign) and 17-19 degrees, indicating the presence of 2 separate planetary groupings. Check your own birthchart to see if these critical degrees fall on any ticklish spots in your chart. The backbone of this pattern is the quick trine of Saturn and Pluto on the 6th. Aspects between these two "heavies" are frequently very stressful and demanding, but a trine between them is less likely to whack us over the head than other aspects might. There is an extensive amount of support from other planets at this time, including Mars, Mercury, the Sun and Jupiter. Notice that Jupiter is standing still and going direct on the 6th as well, so these few days may be rather climactic. This is a time to overhaul (Pluto) the basic structures and routines (Saturn) of your everyday life and make these changes your new habits. Connections with others may start opening up again, as it seems people are slowly coming out of their shells. Generally speaking, this is a very positive time to tackle projects of some importance, though I wouldn't waste it on more trivial concerns.
Aug 12th to the 15th |
The 12th to the 15th is a fairly strong transition period while the planets rearrange themselves into new patterns. The waveform ranges in strength from 338 to 449 units -- pretty potent for a transition time. The harmonics are a "fat H12" and a lot of H48 -- planets are temporarily not cooperating with each other. The areas of emphasis are 24-27 and 16-19 degrees of each sign. The prevailing pattern during this period is best seen in the new moon chart on the 12th. There are 5 Leo planets (Mercury, Sun, Moon, Venus, Saturn) all opposite Neptune. This tug of war between the forces of hard-core reality and a more tenuous, mythic alter-reality is tough on your conceptions of what is actually going on and what is imaginary. The boundary between these extremes is very porous and ill-defined. Wear your ego lightly, as individual concerns are deeply entangled with the larger world. You're not in control of what is happening now, especially on the greater stage.
Aug 16th to the 19th |
The 16th to the 19th is a brief, but powerful storm. The energies whip up to strength levels that range from 388 units on the low end to the high value for the month at 552 units on the 18th, a sizable Koz Alert. The harmonics are a crisp combination of H6, H12 and H24 -- mostly on the positive side. The focal areas are 25-27 and 11 degrees of each sign. The Saturn-Pluto complex is back for more activity. Be prepared for heightened activity during this brief time, perhaps related to events that occured earlier in the month. Even though the harmonics are mostly constructive, a symptom that beneficial aspects are dominating the picture, Saturn-Pluto contacts are notoriously fickle and determined. Don't overplay your hand, particularly if you don't understand the game you're playing. There are some powerful forces in action. Work with the prevailing energies for best results.
Aug 20th to the 26th |
The 20th to the 26th is a weak, drifting transition period. The waveform cools off to 323-422 unit levels -- very little focused energy here. The harmonics are mostly H48, H12 and some H4 -- scattered and lifeless for the most part, with one exception. The hot spots (well, lukewarm at any rate) are 9-11, 17-19 and 26-29 degrees. The Sun is going over Saturn on the 20th, so the Saturn-Pluto complex is still ringing like a bell. On a somewhat lighter note, there's a T-square hiding in this noisy waveform, consisting of Jupiter, Mars and Mercury. Nothing like a shot of optimism to get you up and moving. There's no great support for your efforts, however, so keep your aims modest. If life seems chaotic now, you're probably trying to hold together something that is best released. Letting go is often the best course of action for the next few weeks.
Aug 27th to the end of the month |
Finally, the 27th to the end of the month is a loose, but unpredictable planetary storm. The waveform picks up steam, ranging in strength from 362 to 512 units (low Alert). The harmonics include a fat H12, H24 and H4, still rather positive much of the time. The areas of emphasis are mostly 18 degrees and 0 degrees, right at the start of each sign. There's not a lot of aspects going off these days, but many of them have to do with Mercury opposite Uranus. There's a powerful, but quirky mental streak to these energies, so this is probably a good time to turn over complicated issues in your mind and view them from a number of different perspectives. The full moon on the 28th is a total lunar eclipse, so any important themes coming up during this time will be critical situations for months to come. This storm trickles into early September.
