August falls into a fairly typical pattern of big storms followed by weak transition periods. Both storms manage to get into the Koz Alert mid-range, so there's a sizable chunk of energy being unleased these days. I'd split up the month into roughly 4 separate waveform patterns.
Aug 1st to the 7th |
The 1st to the 7th is the first major storm to contend with. Kicking in at the end of July already, this waveform bops around between 389 units and 525 (a low Koz Alert), hitting the Alert level several times during the week. The harmonics are a rough and demanding mixture of H24, H4 and H8 -- expect a very challenging time. The energy is being focused around 12-13 degrees and 24-27 degrees of each zodiac sign -- check your birthchart to see if any of your planets are in these cross-hairs. The first part of this storm is centered on the Saturn-Neptune trioctile of July 29 ; the last half has Uranus replacing Neptune. This is a time when "down to earth reality" is being severely tested. Our notions of "the way things are" are in for a rude shock or two as novel forces knock us out of our status quo. This energy is not conducive for smooth relationships, as unrealistic expectations may get in the way of cooperation, let alone intimacy. Be careful about throwing your ego around too much, since such displays can lead to big misunderstandings. Just realize it's a rocky time and be very forgiving with others -- it will make things a bit smoother.

The 8th to the 18th is an odd sort of transition period. For the most part it's low energy and rather aimless. But it's also highly changeable, with little mini-storms of 12-24 hours duration appearing out of nowhere, so be prepared for a disorienting, ungrounded period. The waveform mucks around between 321 and 450 units most of the time, but every few days a strong gust (490 to 505) blows through for a few hours. The harmonics are a complex mixture of H24, H12, H36, H48 and some ill-defined noise -- not so much difficult as disorienting. There is some emphasis around 15, 8 and 25 degrees of each zodiac sign, though that's only important on the stronger days. It's hard to characterize this energy precisely because it's so much of a chameleon. There's a lot of willful Mars power right after the new moon on the 8th. This may generate a feeling of frustration at times, because it's not easy to put your desires into action when the world around you is so fickle. Actually, with the Sun-Mars conjunction on the 10th starting a new 2.2 year cycle, it's best to examine this frustration for some clues as to how you are sabotaging your own plans. We all have favorite ways of shooting ourselves in the foot sometimes -- what's yours? There's a lovely sextile fan of Venus, Moon and Neptune on the 16th that should make for a dreamy, pleasurable day. Take some time off to do nothing more than enjoy living; give the aesthetic side of your being a chance to play. It's a good influence to be with someone you love.

The 19th to the 25th is the next big storm pattern. The waveform is the most consistently powerful we've seen all month, moving around solidly in the 410 to 551 unit range. The harmonic picture is more friendly this time around, consisting of H12, H24 and H48 -- easy-going on the surface, though with some rough spots here and there. The energy is focused at 25-27 and 12-14 degrees. There's a Saturn-Uranus trine on the 21st and this whole storm is about unleashing that energy into everyday life. There's a clash between conventional thinking and some radically new insights into the same matters that has everybody off balance. This can actually be a very fruitful collision, since these very different ways of viewing life are able to listen and learn from each other. It's time to see your way out of your ruts and head towards the exit. It's much easier to make these transitions now than with other aspects between these planets. Make the most of this window of opportunity.

The 26th to the end of the month is another transition period, this one seemingly more conventional than the previous one. The waveform hangs out in the 330 to 450 unit region for the most part -- not a lot of "oomph" going on here! The harmonics are a mixture of H12, H48, H24 and some noise -- generally positive, but a bit ragged around the edges. The major peaks are at 27-29 and 6-9 degrees of each zodiac sign. Pluto is standing still on the 26th -- things are in a state of breaking down. This is a good time to let go and move on, as out-moded situations that no longer reflect who you are these days crumble, even if you try to hold onto them. See what can be salvaged and used differently in the future. Have patience, since you have no tailwind for supporting new efforts. You may have to wait until energies pick up in September before you can starting moving again.
