Oct 1st to the 10th -- a long and potent storm.
Oct 11th to the 15th -- kick your feet up a few days.
Oct 16th to the 20th -- a mild, but rude mini-storm.
Oct 21st to the 25th -- the energies collapse.
Oct 26th to the end of the month -- a short and powerful punch!
An online ephemeris for the month is available.
The picture for October, according to the A5 Spectrum, is rather complex. There are 2 full-fledged planetary storms with raging Koz Alerts, plus a minor storm at mid-month that looks irritating, but manageable. In between these storms are the usual transition times of weak, badly organized energies that will give us a few breathing spells when we need it most. So plan for a rather full month.
Oct 1st to the 10th |
The 1st to the 10th is the first storm of the month, a continuation of the weak storm at the end of September. The waveform is quite strong, with a series of important Koz Alerts -- the waveform varies in strength from 390 to 544 units of aspect strength. The main harmonics include a prominent H12, some H48, plus a touch of H4 and H24 -- generally positive and helpful energies, though the going can be rough at times. The peaks are focusing this energy on the 8-11 degree region of each zodiac sign -- check your birthchart to see where this hits you. The backbone of this pattern is a powerful T-square of Jupiter opposite Pluto-Chiron, squared off by Mars. Despite the positive harmonics and the soothing influence of several other helpful planets, this is a difficult pattern in anyone's book. It's a good time to get some important work done, especially if you can work alone. However, it's also a time when tempers and disagreements can flare up, so be careful if you must interact closely with others. The most crucial time is between the 2nd and the 5th, which is also when the energy is most abundant. Attempt to keep your ego out of the picture (which may be tough with all that Mars energy) -- it makes things go much smoother.
Oct 11th to the 15th |
The 11th to the 15th is the first transition period. The waveform cools off markedly, to a wimpy 350 to 400 range. The harmonics are somewhat helpful, but awfully scattered and changeable. The 12 and 18 degree regions of each zodiac sign are the most potent, but that's not really saying much. It's hard to generalize about energy patterns like this, because they are extremely volatile, changing their focus and mood several times a day. As with most transition periods, don't attempt important tasks if you can put them off, since there's no planetary "oomph" to back up your efforts. Confine your activities to the necessary, mundane stuff. Kick back and rebuild your energy reserves (fatigue is getting to be a big problem for people lately). There will be time for action later.
Oct 16th to the 20th |
The 16th to the 20th is the mini-storm I mentioned. Its power is moderate, so it should be easy to work with. However, its harmonics are mostly a pure and irritating H24, with only a touch of H6 now and then to lighten the impact. The points of emphasis are at 12 and 27 degrees. Don't expect things to go smoothly now -- in fact, plan on it. The 24th harmonic is known for its grating effect, creating disharmony and friction. Plus Mercury is standing still on the 18th and going retrograde, so your thinking abilities are going down the tubes at this time. Approach tasks with a slow and steady pace, taking setbacks in stride. Give yourself an "out" at each step, always having a "Plan B" ready in case things don't work out as planned. Be patient with yourself and others.
Oct 21st to the 25th |
The 21st to the 25th is a major transition period -- it seems like the waveform falls apart and totally reinvents itself. The pattern is weak and lifeless, roughly 340 to 400 units. The harmonics are mostly a scattered H48, some H6 at times, and a lot of unidentifiable "noise" that defies analysis. There is some slight emphasis at 5 and 11 degrees, but the pattern is very irregular and volatile. You're not likely to have a clear idea what's happening now anyway, so lie low and take it easy. Some new directions are about to check in, but that won't be until after the Uranus station on the 26th or the new moon on the 27th. Rather than blowing your efforts now and needing to redo everything later, bide your time and wait out the lull.
Oct 26th to the end of the month |
Finally, the 26th to the end of the month is the second major storm pattern. At first, I didn't think it was as imposing as the earlier storm, but on closer inspection I found a towering Koz Alert after the new moon that dwarfs any from the first week. The waveform ranges from a low of 380 units to a spectacular 573 -- that's an Alert with quite an overwhelming kick to it! The harmonics are generally positive, but it can be troublesome on occasion. The bulk of the energy is concentrated at 10-11 degrees. Get ready for a very busy time! Strong Alerts like this tend to "run away" with us, involving us in situations where we have little control. Stay calm inside and respond to circumstances as best you can. Focus your actions in just one or two main areas, leaving the little stuff for another time. Things may not turn out as planned, but the distractions and interruptions may wind up being more useful than your original path -- keep your eyes open for these unexpected twists in the road. Stay clear about your true motivations if you wish to steer clear of entanglements. This storm is breaking up by the 31st and the energy is much milder as we enter November.
Of course, 10 hours after the new moon, the waveform reaches its peak energy for the month and looks like this...
